At RNL Homes, We Do More Than Build Communities, We live in them!

It’s the ultimate sign of confidence when a homebuilder actually lives in a home and a community his company built. Luis Reyna, the “L” in RNL Homes, and his wife Nina recently moved into a new home in Bryan’s Greenbrier community.

Luis and his wife went through the typical home buying process of choosing the community, the home site and floor plan, and watching their Bryan-College Station new home come to life.

Here’s how Luis describes the experience:

“Greenbrier was the perfect choice for us. My parents live there, my brother and sister-in-law are currently building theirs, and since we’ve built all the homes in the community, we already know all the neighbors. It’s really an extraordinary community.“

As for the home itself, we chose the Elizabeth floor plan, featuring 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a study, and a 2-car garage. And here’s something that will tell you how much my wife trusts me: She didn’t see the interior of the home until it was completely finished.

Nora (The “N” of RNL) and I made all the selections for our new home. I know I’m the operations guy, but I also love design – and having Nora’s expertise was a big help as well. My wife had seen the frame, and drove by a few times as the home was going up, but that was it.

When our home was finished, I took her to see it. When I opened the front door, and she looked inside, she cried. She was amazed at how beautiful and perfect it was.

We love our new home. Something that has really impressed me is the quality of our insulation and energy efficiency. We chose to upgrade to foam insulation in the walls and attic, and we’re so happy we did! Our electric bills have been incredibly low, and the insulation serves as an excellent sound barrier, too.

Luis loves the Greenbrier community, too. “Our current homeowners really sell our homes for us,” he says. “Just a couple of weeks, Ricardo brought a couple out to see a home, and one of the neighbors came over with a slice of freshly baked cheesecake.” He thought these were people who were moving into the home. When they learned the couple was doing a tour, they started talking about how much they love their new home and the community.

When the neighbor left, the couple turned to Ricardo and their Realtor® and said, “I don’t need to look anywhere else. This is home.” The couple decided to move into the neighborhood and we expect for them to move into their new home sometime mid-March.

RNL Homes started a tradition by throwing the first block party a couple of years ago, and since then, other neighbors have joined the tradition and there are usually 2 or 3 parties for RNL’s section in the Greenbrier community each year. We invite people whose homes are currently under construction and that way they can get to know the neighbors before they ever move in.

We’d love for you to become part of the RNL family, too – and we invite and encourage you to speak with our current homeowners to learn about their experience with their new home in Bryan-College Station.
