One of the best things about buying a new home in Bryan-College Station is the area’s many opportunities to get outdoors and be active. This is the perfect time of year to explore some of the natural treasures in our area and take advantage of the spring-like weather.

If you’re looking for new homes for sale in Bryan-College Station, keep these recreation areas in mind as you do. All of them are easily accessible from your new Bryan-College Station home, built by RNL Homes.

Lake Bryan

Yes, it’s a lake – but it’s also a mountain biker’s paradise. The trails around Lake Bryan were developed by the local mountain biking club, and there are options for both beginners and those looking for more of a challenge.

If you’re looking to spend a few hours by the water, this is a beautiful place to relax. You can also try your luck at fishing – the lake is stocked with largemouth bass, crappie, catfish and redfish.

For those who want to be on the water, kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals are available.

Gibbons Creek Reservoir

This popular fishing hole is a bit farther from Bryan-College Station new homes, but anglers tell us it’s well worth the drive. Largemouth bass are the most predominant fish found at the reservoir, with an average size of 10 pounds. Other commonly found species of fish are channel, blue, and flathead catfish, white and black crappie, and bluegill.

Bee Creek Park

Bookmark Bee Creek Park as a place to cool off when the temps soar this summer. It has a swimming pool, wading pool and small water park, as well as playgrounds for the little ones. The trail at Bee Creek Park connects to Lemon Tree Park and then goes on to College Station Cemetery. Sports enthusiasts will also find lighted tennis courts, softball fields and a sand volleyball court.

Wolf Pen Creek Park

Its nine-hole disc golf course makes this park a popular destination for those who buy new homes in Bryan-College Station. Another attraction is the amphitheater, which hosts concerts, movies, and festivals. One of the most popular events held in the amphitheater is the annual Starlight Music Series, featuring live music of all different genres.

Lick Creek Park

The main attraction at Lick Creek Park is its 4 miles of wide, wooded trails. If you want the opportunity to see wildlife and hear birds singing while you walk or run, you’ll be thrilled to find Lick Creek Park. This is a popular spot for bird watching and dog walking.

Research Park

Located at the edge of the Texas A&M campus, Research Park is home to the only 18-hole disc golf course in BCS. The park also includes a large off-leash area where you can let the pups run and play.

University Park Dog Park

This is four acres of doggy heaven. The dog park is fenced, and there are separate areas for large dogs and small dogs. There’s plenty of shade for both you and your furry friend – and your dog will love splashing in the ponds and making new friends!
